Session 12 Diary

Oh well. The initial survey was apparently correct - this place just isn't interesting. Scared as hell, but not interesting.

Clare did indeed bully the lord (Percy, I think) into talking, but he knew nothing at all. She left him a messenger, in case anything does happen, but that does appear to be a dead end.

Anyway, she next attempted a trump scrying, which would appear to be the last desperate act of someone completely stuck, but in this case had some interesting results...

Specifically Dworkin, who summoned her - with an 'I'll be beck shortly', she left for a number of hours, 'accidentally' leaving behind a trump of the place. After a while, Coenna suggested we (myself and Coenna) go and look at the airfield again.

Turns out she couldn't care less, and just wanted to scream at me, but there we go. Oh, and she made sure to leave the 'forgotton' trump with me. I ended up returning to the castle to wait for Clare, and did so via this trump.

The bitch, or more accurately bitches, were, of course perfectly aware that the trump went to the plane of pure fire, instead of the location pictured.

This didn't precisely do me any harm, but as practical jokes go... Well, let's just say that if Clare loses a leg, I may well just laugh at her. On the bright side, I had been needing a suitable place to dump the targets of a defensive teleport spell I was working on, and the incinerator seems perfect. I was just finishing codifying that when Clare returned.

She didn't say anything useful, of course, except 'yes, funny wasn't it - can I have it back?' - so it appears that Dworkin hadn't managed to solve her problem just yet.

Anyway, at this point, I managed to get back in touch with Tamash, and discovered some interesting goings on in Chaos - specifically a political takeover by Prospero, and some ongoing plans for Tamash which I'd better not commit to paper. We had lunch, and a tour of Prospero's newly acquired Ways.

Ah yes, while we were sleeping at the castle, shortly before breakfast, in fact, X got in touch with me, and mentioned several things, one of which was the political turmoil in Chaos. This was perhaps slightly unexpected, and presumably part of some larger plan, but nonetheless is likely worth exploiting for mutual advantage. Given the identity of the individual, I won't be committing much to paper just yet.
